As a Health & Safety professional, I am regularly asked what I could do for an employer that would make a difference. Everyone knows they should have a health and safety policy and procedures but many have no idea what this means in practice. They see it as a drain on profits – yes they know they need to look after their workforce but many have a transient workforce so feel reluctant to fork out for training, new PPE etc when there is a good chance the employee will only stay a few weeks before they move on.
